About Holoholo.ai
An AI travel concierge for regenerative Oʻahu trips.
Our mission
Visitors to Hawaiʻi rarely arrive intending to extract — but the default vacation industry quietly nudges them that way. Holoholo builds the alternative: AI-planned itineraries that route your dollars, time, and labor toward people and places that are actively restoring Oʻahu.
You bring the trip dates and your curiosity. We bring a curated registry of regenerative experiences — reef restoration workdays, loʻi kalo (taro) volunteer mornings, native-forest restoration on the Koʻolau, family farm tours that pay the farm directly. Our concierge handles the bookings, the timing across operators, and the day-of logistics so you can show up present.
Why regenerative?
Sustainable tourism aims to reduce harm. Regenerative tourism aims to leave a place actively better than you found it through your labor, your spending, and your willingness to be a guest rather than a customer. On Oʻahu that’s a coral fragment that survives outplanting, a row of huli (taro tops) that takes root, a koa seedling that makes it past its first dry season.
The state-recognized Mālama Hawaiʻi Program names this work; Holoholo helps you connect to the operators who do it.
Who’s behind this
Holoholo.ai LLC is a Hawaiʻi-based company founded and operated by Keith Herrington. The product is built end-to-end by a small team using AI as the labor multiplier — the concierge that handles the booking grind, the planner that surfaces the regenerative options, the operator dashboard that watches every moving piece across the trip lifecycle.
We’re not a marketplace. We’re a concierge. We don’t take commissions from suppliers — they get paid their full listed price. Our revenue is a flat planning fee from you, the traveler. That means we have no incentive to nudge you toward whoever pays us the most; we just route you to the operators best suited to your interests and dates.
How the technology works
The product is built on:
- Anthropic Claude— the AI behind the itinerary planner and the concierge chat. Your travel preferences and chat messages are processed under Anthropic’s data-processing terms; they don’t train their models on your data.
- Vercel — web hosting and serverless functions. Sub-second response times globally.
- Supabase (PostgreSQL) — the database that holds your trip record, itinerary, and booking state, hosted in the United States.
- Stripe — handles the planning deposit and any refunds. Your card details never touch our servers.
- Privacy.com — issues single-use virtual cards that we use to pay suppliers on your behalf, so your card number is never shared with the operator.
For the full technical map of the system, see our privacy policy (the sub-processor section lists every third party we share data with, and why).
Where we operate today
Oʻahu only. Our partner network spans Honolulu, the Windward side, the North Shore, and the Waiʻanae coast. Maui, Hawaiʻi Island, Kauaʻi, Lānaʻi, and Molokaʻi are out of scope for now — those islands have excellent regenerative-tourism programs of their own (the Mālama Hawaiʻi directory above lists partners across all islands).
